HVFX Ltd. - News - Gulf States First Lightning Show

The Mall Of The Emirates hosted the first live lightning show in the Gulf States. HVFX supplied a Tesla coil system, stunt performer and Lightning Dome for a spectacular stunt show, as well as a semi-interactive science exhibit in the centre of the Galleria. Live explainers, video and interactive content made the exhibition an entertaining and educational family attraction during the day. Each evening the spectacular stunt show drew crowds of several thousand, and achieved widespread coverage in local media.

Alan Jones head of Branding for MAF Group summed up the event in saying "thanks for all your efforts ... it was a strong line-up". The unique nature of the show made this a powerful media event, as David Downie for Impact Artists & Sian Dubai explains "With an effect so strong the important thing for us was to capitalise on the media potential of the show". The design and production of an effect in the middle east region posed inevitable logistical challenges, Nick Field of HVFX commented "This was both a strong concept and an excellent learning experience for us. This project demonstrated our capability to realise significant projects outside our European base."
